Craig Ackley

Craig N. Ackley spent over 25 years as a law enforcement officer, 21 as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and retired from the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) of the FBI’s National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime (NCAVC), FBI Academy, Quantico, VA. Craig worked in the area of violent crime his entire career and, while with the NCAVC, he provided behavioral support in violent crime matters to federal, state, local, and foreign law enforcement / prosecutorial agencies in the form of such services as crime analysis, offender analysis, crime scene analysis, investigative strategies, interview and interrogation strategies, indirect personality assessment, major case management, and trial strategies. During his career, Craig received the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Investigation and the FBI Director’s Award for Excellence in Criminal Investigation.
Since his retirement from the FBI, Craig has worked with prosecutors in over 50 homicide (including capital cases), sexual assault, and intimate partner violence trials, from the pre-trial stage through adjudication of the case.
Craig is a co-author of Investigative and Forensic Interviewing: A Personality-Focused Approach, and author of Criminal Investigative Analysis: A Move Toward a Scientific, Multidisciplinary Model in Handbook of Behavioral Criminology.
Craig has a B.S. in Criminology, an M.S. in Psychology, and has provided extensive training, both nationally and internationally, to law enforcement, attorneys, and mental health professionals.
Bart Holzer
Co-Founder and Head of Technology
Bart Holzer is a security executive with more than twenty-five years of information security, cybersecurity, and investigative experience. He is currently serving as a fractional executive (vCSO and vCISO) to businesses as a consultant. His most recent internal position was as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of a financial services firm in Franklin, TN.
Bart is active in the Nashville security community. He is currently serving on the board of the ISSA Middle Tennessee Chapter and its 2023 InfoSec Nashville Conference Committee. Bart serves as President of the Board for the InfraGard Middle Tennessee Members Alliance.
For nearly two decades, Bart provided technical support to an operational unit within federal law enforcement. His specific expertise was applied to affecting court authorized electronic surveillance on packet switched networks. During his tenure, Bart led technical teams and built out the unit’s first operations center.
Bart has a B.S.E. in Computer Science, an M.S. in Telecommunications, and multiple certifications - including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP), and Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
